This is the latest film in the SickKids VS Limits campaign, that started in 2016 to raise 1.3 billion dollars. Since then, it has reached almost 75 percent of its goal – the largest fundraiser in Canadian health care history.
This time the film – with a children’s version of Johnny Cash’s/Nine Inch Nails’ song “Hurt” – focuses on what’s going on inside the The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids): ‘The doctors and staff continue to defy the odds daily while overcoming the barriers of a hospital originally built in 1949. The reality is that the space has many limitations and there is only one way to fully understand these and feel the desperate need for a new building – seeing what goes on on the inside.’
Toronty CityNews also reported about the campaign, which is called ‘This is why [we fight]’ and has numerous spin-offs, as in personal stories of kids who have been treated successfully at the hospital.
